The CG Program: Friday, July 24

Weekdays 9 to NoonOn today’s program, we’ll attempt to restore order after yesterday’s rollicking mayhem with James Denton, Jay Thomas and Tracy Briggs.  Man crushes, stolen security cards and James timing yellow lights in boxer shorts before heading to the studio to film Desperate Housewives…it’s A to Z on this program!

So then, on the program today we have a great lineup for you.  Nancy Miller, the senior editor of Wired Magazine joins us from San Francisco to discuss The New Rules for Highly Evolved HumansJeanne Wolf calls in from Los Angeles for her weekly musings on all things Hollywood.  And we’ll take another journey into the WDAY archives with a WDAY alum, Larry Gauper.

Today’s talkers – and if today is anything like yesterday, who knows if we’ll get to them – Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. and the continuing controversy over his arrest.  I said the story wouldn’t go away, and it hasn’t.  Also, Michael Vick and whether or not he should ever be back in the NFL.

And today is Retro Bumper Friday.  At the end of every week, we feature a particular genre of music.  Maybe the 50′s or 60′s, Motown, Blues, and so on.  Today, we’re featuring a house band for the entire program that’ll get you in the mood to travel down to Louisiana:  Nathan Williams & the Zydeco Cha-Chas.  If you’ve never heard Zydeco, you’re in for a treat.

Along with the usual players – Top 5 @ 10, The One Minute of Your Life You’ll Never Get Back and This Day in History – we’re all set for Friday’s program, Live from Fargo.
