Around the Rim Pre-Draft Roundtable for NBA’s HOOP magazine

I’ve been a long-time reader of the NBA’s HOOP magazine, going back to my high school days in Philadelphia when the Sixers won games as often as Halley’s Comet made an appearance. Just about everywhere I’ve lived, including New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Fresno and Fargo, North Dakota, my love of the NBA has been informed by a great variety of voices found in HOOP.

Recently Josh Eberley, a Calgary-based NBA writer and regular contributor to HOOP, extended an invitation to me to participate in a roundtable discussion leading up to the 2017 NBA Draft. What a great privilege this was, joining up with three outstanding writers – Vince Miracle, Travis McEwan and Chris Stone – in Around the Rim.

Give us a read and see how close we got (or ridiculously misguided we were) discussing draft predictions, biggest draft blunders of all time, most memorable moments of the 2016-2017 season and a lot more.

Ideally I’ll track down Vince, Travis, Chris and Josh to do an on-air draft follow-up and a look ahead to the 2017-2018 season. Sure, five people on a radio segment or two might be inviting complete mayhem. But this group thrives when living on the edge. It can be done with minimal bruising and no more than three flagrant fouls.
